It is commonly incorporated into tablets, capsules, powders and specialty formulations to improve flow properties, reduce caking, enhance stability and optimize overall formulation performance. MOLSIL™ T also utilized in formulations requiring high-purity talc.

1 Description It occurs as a very fine, white or grayish-white, crystalline powder.

(A) Infrared Absorption.
(B) A white, crystalline precipitate of magnesium ammonium phosphate is formed.
(C) Within a short time, a white ring is rapidly formed around the drop of water.
3 Water soluble substances The filtrate is neutral to litmus paper, and the weight of the residue is not more than 5 mg (0.1%).
4 Limit of Iron Not more than 0.25%.
5 Limit of Lead Not more than 10 ppm.
6 Limit of calcium Not more than 0.9%.
7 Limit of Aluminium Not more than 2.0%.
8 Absence of Asbestos Specified test.
9 Acidity and Alkalinity Not more than 0.4 mL of 0.01 N hydrochloric acid is required to change the color of the bromothymol blue indicator. not more than 0.3 mL of 0.01 N sodium hydroxide is required to change the color of the phenolphthalein indicator to pink.
10 Loss on ignition Not more than 7.0%.
11 Assay
(A) Content of magnesium
(A) Not less than 17.0% and not more than 19.5%.

PACKAGING

MOLSIL™ T is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 5 years. Preserve in well-closed containers.
